About the studio

Experience behind the work.

Rich & Plain draws on experience in science education, learning design, content development and practical information design.

Our principles

Four principles guide each project.

01

Understand first.

Learn the audience, context and task.

02

Keep the meaning.

Preserve the detail people need.

03

Make it clear.

Remove confusion and organise the essential.

04

Design for use.

Make the result practical to use.

Earlier educational work

Rich & Plain builds on years of experience developing hands-on science programmes, facilitator resources and experiential learning environments for children and educators. This earlier work included BioClub, mobile laboratory programmes and educational projects delivered through Sadehsazan Sokhan Elm Institute in Iran.

Working with specialist knowledge

We simplify specialist knowledge with the people responsible for its accuracy. Final approval remains with the client or relevant qualified specialists.
